First Faculty of Medicine

Located right in the beating heart of Prague, it is the oldest medical faculty in Central Europe. Besides studying the classically-designed curriculum of General Medicine or Dentistry in English, residency and a variety of doctoral programmes are available. In Czech language, the range of study programmes also include addictology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, nutritional therapy, general nursing, and midwifery. It is also the most productive institution in biomedical and clinical research in the Czech Republic. Research and teaching are conducted through over 70 theoretical institutes and clinical workplaces in collaboration with the General University Hospital, Motol University Hospital, Central Military Hospital, Thomayer University Hospital, Bulovka University Hospital, and other interdisciplinary centres. With all its clinical facilities and the largest student community, it is simply the biggest medical school in the country. The Faculty also contributes to the activities of the top research centre Biocev, the development of the Albertov Campus project, and educational activities in the natural and medical sciences.
